Folks,
Combat Information Center, is a monthly magazine created during WW II to spread the best practices in the rapidly developing art of integrating information (particularly radar) for command and control in U.S. Navy ships.
These magazines were created during a deadly, bitterly fought war with Imperial Japan. In this context it is not surprising that there are cartoons with depictions of Imperial Japanese forces that are offensive in today's context.
These online versions of the magazine are provided in PDF format. This means that the files are large and you consider saving them to your local hard disk for repeated viewings to avoid long downloads.
We are grateful to the USS Slater and USS Massachusetts for making most of these available. The 1946 issues came from National Archives. Please contact the webmaster if you know where we might find the missing Nov 1944 issue, or the pages missing from Mar and Apr 1945.
