Photo of foundation and mount in conning tower.

The two gauge foundation in the conning tower had no gauges when Pampanito became a museum (the brass instrument mount is original). We believe the left side with the brass instrument holder held a barometer/manometer like the one on the dive station. The diameter of the brass bracket is 4-1/2 inches. Our best guess was that there was a Mk 1 Deck Clock on the right. However, it might have been a thermometer.

The barometer/manometer we are looking for was built by Bendix Friez Instrument. Labelled "US NAVY". Dial goes up to 36" or 38" of mercury whereas normal Navy barometers go to 31" or 33".

The Mark I Deck clocks were made by several vendors. They may be in brass or bakelite (black plastic) cases.
