May 23, 2007 Eighth Annual Gala Brings Maritime History to Life San Francisco – California (May 23, 2007) – San Francisco Maritime National Park Association will hold its premier fundraising event, the 8th Annual Maritime Heritage Awards Gala, Maritime Heroes: A Salute to Volunteers, on October 27, 2007 at 6 p.m. in magnificent Building One on Treasure Island. The gala includes a seated dinner, silent and live auctions, dancing, and will recognize five Maritime Heritage Award Honorees: Neil Chaitin, Don Doyle, and David Nelson. The Association will also announce the creation of the Jean McClatchy Bricker Memorial Teacher to Ranger to Teacher fund and program. Since 1950, the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association has been bringing maritime history to life through preservation and education. The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association’s Annual Gala is one of the Bay Area’s premier charity events. Tickets are now available for $250 each and sponsorship opportunities available from $5,000 to $50,000. The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association is also accepting donations for its live and silent auctions.
