Hard Hat Tour on Pampanito Submarine

Here's your opportunity to get a first-hand look at one of the once-secret naval vessels that helped to win World War II; The USS Pampanito (SS-383). Participate in an after hours guided walk through of the USS Pampanito, lead by a member of the education staff, and see first hand areas of the submarine normally off limits to visiting guests. You and your group will be lead through the interior of the submarine and have an opportunity to crawl through the submarine’s super structure, the below deck levels of the “Lower Flats” plus a tour and explanation of the Conning Tower and gun deck. Tours will also include a discussion of how the “Silent Service” contributed to the Allied victory of World War II and what Pampanito’s crew did to keep the submarine functioning during each war patrol.

Host your next birthday party aboard the World War II submarine USS Pampanito. Enjoy cake and ice cream inside the crew’s mess hall as well as a personalized guided tour through the submarine, lead by one of our education staff or submarine veteran volunteers. Tour includes access to several restricted areas and numerous unique photo opportunities. Birthday Party Tour prices start at $15.00 a person, group is responsible for providing their own food and drinks. The USS Pampanito is now offering Guided Tours Monday – Friday

Participate in a guided walk through of the USS Pampanito and experience the submarine in a whole new way by participating in a detailed walkthrough of how the Pampanito housed a crew of 80 men, operated with state-of-the-art equipment from the 1940s and contributed to the Allied victory during World War II.  Lead by one of the Pampanito’s education staff members, your group will be taken on a walk on the submarine’s deck and tour the interior of an actual World War II Balao class submarine while learning about the important role played by the "Silent Service." Your tour will describe the difficult conditions under which the crews of these vessels toiled and learn about the basic principles of submarine operation.
Tours will be held during regular operating hours, Monday – Friday only. Groups are limited to the first 20 participants; a sign up sheet will be available in the Pampanito ticket booth. 

Allow an educated staff member to show you through the USS Pampanito in a small group environment. Each tour will take a maximum group size of 20 people through a detailed explanation of the inside and outside of the USS Pampanito. Each participant will be charged an additional $5.00 over the general admission rate and will received a Tour Member memorabilia badge to take home with them once the tour has finished.
