Summer Sailing Programs in Aquatic Park

This summer join us in San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and beyond for unique Sailing Adventures. These NEW summer programs include lessons in sailing, maritime history, safety and theory, wooden boat building, physics and hydrology, journeys to different harbors and islands around the Bay and visits to unique Bay Area sites. Experience a wide range of vessels from square riggers, schooners and whaleboats to modern racing sloops while working with certified instructors from some of the Bay Area’s best sailing schools and maritime heritage centers. Join us for fun and unique programs based out of Aquatic Park in San Francisco.

All summer programs are for youth ages 12-17.
$350/wk. SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE.
9am – 3pm

#1: Sailing into the 21st Century. Learn to Sail with SEA in Aquatic Park, voyage onto the bay aboard the Sea Scout’s Whaleboats and experience the rich sailing tradition of SF Bay from Tall Ships to the America’s Cup in the Maritime National Park.
June 27-July 1 and July 5-9

#2: Sailing the Circuit of the Bay. Learn to Sail and experience sailing adventures to Marin, Angel and Yerba Buena Islands and China Camp aboard NPS’ historic Alma, Sea Scout Whaleboats and SEA’s modern Catalina 16.5s.
July 11-15

#3: Wooden Boat Building and Sailing. Build a small wooden boat while gaining traditional maritime skills like rigging and navigation and learning to sail in Aquatic Park aboard traditional wooden SF Bay Pelican sailboats.
August 15-19

#4: Sailing and Science.
Learn about the science of sailing as well as the Aquatic Park environment with SFSU’s hands-on experiential education program. Master the basics of small boat sailing in Aquatic Park aboard traditional wooden SF Bay Pelican sailboats.
June 27- July 1 ***this program is $225/wk
