LOOSE STORES
WEWAK
LOOSE STORES-PREFABRICATED BUILDING MATERIAL. This instance and many others are strong evidence in favor of the theory that most military buildings constructed by the Japanese are shipped in a prefabricated condition. These piles of lumber are sorted as to type and size. Weather protection is afforded by sheet metal covers and palm fronds are used for camouflage. Note the trucks present.

RABAUL

Four and five pole tents are also present. The crowded aspect of such a supply area is easily visible in the vertical. Note the numerous trucks.

(2) SMALL LUMBER DUMP OF PREFABRICATED BUILDING MATERIALS. Note the roof trusses in the lower center of the photo. Fuel piles and crated stores are present beyond the road through the center of the photo. Note the two tanks in center and left center of the photo.

(3) LUMBER DUMP OF PREFABRICATED BUILDING MATERIAL. The irregular pattern of such a dump contrasted with the regular individual piles make identification a simple matter. Note the roof trusses in the upper right corner of the photo.
